Gettin’ Gritty

Fill your Hands! this was one of my favorite movies of the year and alot of fun to work on. I will happily draw western scenes at every possible opportunity so it was fun to have one pop up.

Creation Myths, First Post

These are the first two images I have put together for my seminar project, a collection of illustrated creation myths from around the world. These correspond to an australian aboriginal myth called The Dreamtime, and one of many Chinese creation myths involving a dog-man-being named Pan Gu. I am planning on doing at least ten of these, though they are taking longer than expected due to the amount of research that needs to go into each image. Normally, I can get on a roll working on a set of images in the same theme but because each of these has to reference a completely separate cultural legacy there is alot of stepping back and hitting the books. Anyway, if i’m not getting at least one of these up per week it means i’m falling behind, so give me grief!

Thanks very much for looking
